Giving & Receiving ~Part 3

The Metaphysics

Giving and Receiving

 ~ Part 3 ~

The Final Part

Today we come to the final part of Giving & Receiving, Part 3.

So, what is the best present you can give to someone you truly Love this Christmas? And, so, what is the best present you can truly give to yourself? Because what we give, is what we will receive!

Let me narrate the story Jesus healing the ten men with Leprosy first, and then we will look at the Metaphysics of this parable.

“Now on his way to Jerusalem, Jesus travelled along the border between Samaria and Galilee. As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy met him. They stood at a distance and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master, have pity on us!”

When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went, they were cleansed.

One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God in a loud voice. He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.

Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”

So, who was giving what, and who received what from Jesus?

Because on Level-1 there are three possibilities for each, please let me explain. You have the ego false image in the Persona, and you have the ego false image in the Shadow.

And, then you have you, in your personality. Each will give and receive according to their masters. And, you cannot serve two master at the same time! The masters of the false images is obviously the ego, and the ego being nothing, will give nothing in return, because it has nothing to give, being nothing itself.

The Personality’s master is spirit, it is the Soul, and it is of God, therefore the personality has everything to give. It is only the personality that will give according to its master, which is, it will give what it has received. It is only the personality that can accept true healing, and it is this that all gratitude should be bestowed upon God.

When Jesus healed the ten men with leprosy, only one returned, and only one was truly healed. What was not written, was that the other nine who were healed, who did not return, their leprosy returned. Why?

Because the false image cannot be healed, it cannot accept the truth, because the ego cannot accept the truth. And, if it does accept the truth, that is the end of it, so it will always reject that truth to keep itself alive. And, when Jesus healed them, their false image rejected that healing.

The only healing the false image can and will accept is magic. And, what is magic? Magic is using an external remedy for an internal problem. For example, medicine and drugs would be termed as magic. In the Course we also learn that the problem with is magic that it does work, but it is always a temporary solution, and so when you use magic, the symptoms will always return.

So, what is the Metaphysics of all three possibilities?

The Shadow false image will take, without recompense, without blinking an eye, because it believes in entitlement. It believes in entitlement because it believes its opposite has taken everything from it, and its opposite is the false image in the persona.

This is why the shadow false image will always attack the persona false image. It will always feel justified in its attacks, and will give gratitude to no one.

Then you have the persona false image, and it will only give to get. And, the only thing it will pay for, is what it truly values, which is specialness. And, specialness being an illusion, it will gladly accept that, and will also gladly pay for it.

However, if it pays for specialness, and it does not get what it pays for, it will always feel cheated, and therefore seek the return of what it has given.

And, finally you have the personality, and it is only the personality that will gladly give when it has received. And, the only one of the ten men who had leprosy who returned, was the only one who was in his personality.

He was the only one who could accept the truth, all others rejected that truth. And, so they did not return, nor did they give any gratitude to Jesus, or to God. How could they? The ego despises the truth, and all who represent that truth. So in all nine cases, the leprosy returned!

The ego false image will only embrace those who offer specialness, and it will make alliances with all those who do likewise. This is why the Pharisees hated Jesus and what he stood for, because Jesus was bringing a truth that they could not accept, and would not accept. Why?

Because that truth would have removed and dissolved the ego in their own minds and so, they could not accept it, because the ego cannot accept it. And, just like Eckhart Tolle says; egos are attracted to bigger egos’ why? Because bigger egos offer more and more specialness, and so the persona false image will lap up that specialness.

If anyone has seen my Teachings and my videos, I actually go out of my way to demonstrate that I do not, and will not offer specialness to anyone, especially someone coming to me in their persona false image. I do this, not to judge them or reject them as bad or wrong, I am actually doing them a favor. Why?

Because when specialness is accepted by anyone, both the giver and the receiver will encompass much pain into their lives. And, they will never know why this has happened!

So, this Christmas, give as you have received and the line in the sand is this. Giving and Receiving must be equated in the exact same way as True Love is given and received.

True Love is unconditional, and without attachment. If you decide to attach any conditions to what you give, you then give nothing. And, if you decide to Love, then Love without conditions, and without attachments. If you can do this, then you are in your personality, and you will receive more than what you have given.

The presents we give to each other this Christmas should only be a symbol of the Love we have for each other. Because True Love, is wholly without demands. True love is wholly without expectations. True Love is wholly without needs. And, True Love is wholly without desires.

So, when you give your presents, then give them without the demand that you should receive a present in return. When you give your presents, give them without the expectation that you are entitled to a present in return. When you give your presents, give them without the need for a present in return.

And, when you give your presents, give them without any desire for a present in return.

If you can do this, and I am sure that all of you can do this, then you are giving much more than a box with something inside, wrapped up in fine paper with a bow on top.

You are giving everything you, and the only true thing you have that is worth giving, is your Love. It is the Love of God.

And, when you give the Love of God to anyone, you give it to yourself.

This is the Best Present you can give to anyone, and so…This Is The Best Present You Can Give to YourSelf This Christmas!.

Merry Christmas,

To You & All of Yours

It seems to me that, in the Course ‘special relationships’ are indicated by false priorites which produce nothing good or real. The word ‘special’ is often targeted by students of the course, as if nothing good was to be ‘special’, nothing ‘special’ , good. In Chapter 1 of my book, under ‘V. Wholeness and Spirit’, Jesus says, ( 3:6) “All my brothers are special.” It is not the word ‘special’ that indicates unreality, but where and how it is used.

Thank you so much Michael for shedding some light on an experience of second degrees separation I was beginning to feel as a student of the course. I could not understand why I was feeling even more of an outcast as a student realizing that all the people around me don’t know or want to know any thing I’m learning in the Course. So instead of feeling Oneness, I was experiencing even greater isolation. Now as I read your description of how Course students can experience themselves as even “extra special” which I believe I must have done because I felt deeply isolated. I’m in judgement too that I sometimes feel what I’m learning is very important, at least for me. I may have decided that I’m special from that but then I remember, this my path, it’s not the only path but it’s the one Spirit has shown me. it’s not better or worse than any other path. I must still be dreaming.
